Alue: Rioja, Espanja

Montecillo Reservaa on kypsytetty 18 kk ranskalaisissa tammitynnyreissä ja sen jälkeen pulloissa (DOCa Reserva).

Väri: Syvä kirsikan punainen, rusehtava reuna.
Tuoksu: Mausteita, vaniljaa ja tummia marjoja,hienostunutta tammea.
Maku: Vastaa hyvin tuoksua. Hyvä rakenne, hienostuneet tanniinit, mausteisuutta, kypsä. Pitkä ja miellyttävä jälkimaku.

Käyttösuositus: Viini sopii mainiosti grillatuille ja paistetuille lihoille, pataruuille, mausteiset pastaruuat, rasvaiselle kalalle kuten lohelle ja tonnikalalle, koville juustoille (mm. manchego). Tarjoillaan 17 – 18 ºC.

Taustaa tuottajasta:
Vuonna 1874 Celestinos Navajas perusti Bodegas Montecillon, Rioja Altan alueelle. Hänen poikansa Alejandron Bordeaux’ssa oppiman taidon ja tiedon ansiosta Bodega sai yksilöllisen maineensa kunniansa, jota se yhä tänä päivänä nauttii. Vuonna 1973 Bodegas Montecillo siirtyi Osbornen perheen omistukseen.
