"In this instance the Sans Barrique cuvee enjoys no wood, which is the key to its crisp clean personality. The palate and character of this style is achieved through leaving the wine on its primary lees for a number of months, thereby gaining flavours from the natural bed of original fermentation yeasts as they breakdown! These grapes originate from a unique vineyard site, located amongst the tall mountains behind the village of Villiersdorp. The wine is flinty and dry with strong hints of kiwi fruit and green apple, even a hint of banana. The flavour is intense and offers the ideal companion to crayfish and other fruits of the sea." Bouchard-Finlayson
