Vintage 2014

Written Notes

Dark purple red with garnet hue and almost black centre. Well structured nose with mature aroma reminiscent of balmy spices, prunes and dark berry jam, vanilla and fine toasting aroma with elegant hints of smoke. On the palate well balanced with ripe character, mature tannins, quite rich taste with ripe fruit and elegant spiciness. A wine with a velvety mouthfeel and convincing finish.

Tasted in October 2018. 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Typical wine for a cool vintage. Earthy flavors, spicy fruit, some elegance and strong tannin. More C.Franc in the blend than usual gave this wine a very strong backbone. Needs several years to soften up.
