The Story

This charming château, embellished by a small tower, is located close to the church in the village of Pomerol. Acquired in 1917 by Mrs. Loubat, the then famous proprietor of PETRUS, the vineyard was owned by her niece, Mrs. Lacoste, for 40 years before she donated it to the Fondation de Foyers de Charité de Châteauneuf de Galaure in 2002.

Written Notes

Tasted in January 2024. Fruit drops on the nose, offering an elegant and well-proportioned wine with tasty fruit and ripe tannins. It's a bit lightweight for my taste, but this wine has a nice future ahead of it.

Intense creamy attack with black fruit flavors, long lasting velvety tannins and an intense/elegant finish.

  • 92p
Tight and closed initially with muted oak yet polished and silky on the early palate. Undoubtably concentrated with lovely ripe but not overripe flavours. The palate is held together with delicious fresh acidity and very fine grained tannins. This is dry, long and tight with fabulous potential yet delicious already. Beautifully made. Drink 2015 – 2025.
