The Story

Malescot-St-Exupéry's wine is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot - it is matured in oak barriques, 80% of which are new, for 16 months and is bottled unfiltered.

Malescot-St-Exupéry can be light and lean when young but after 6-7 years of cellaring displays a seductive perfume and a harmonious and silky texture which few wines from Margaux can match.

Malescot St. Exupery CC - 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot. In earlier vintages, I found this property to produce slightly too extracted and overdone wines. The great news is that you won't find anything like that in 2018! There are intense blackcurrants and tobacco leaves on the nose, a lot of elegance and finesse mixed with great structure, velvety texture, silky fruit and tannin. Fine complexity and length. An eminent and seductive wine. 94p (93-94p).

Dark purple red colour with violet hue and black core. Very elegant nose with fine fruit, blackcurrants, blackberries and hints of mulberries, A hint of roasting aroma in the background as well as hints of mild spices. On the palate excellent structure and balance with ripe tannins, succulent fruit, complex character, depth and length.
