In Bordeaux, the decade culminated in the hot year of 1949, when Bordeaux was hit by an unprecedented period of drought. 18.5 Punkte. Melasse pur, dicht, fett (fast zu...) und wuchtig. Sehr süss aber mit einer gut stützenden Säure. Recht alkoholisch. Unbedingt dekantieren. Wirkt wie ein Strohwein. 2008: 19 Punkte. Rebouché. Enorme Süsse und ebenso viel, aber gut eingebundene Säure. Viel Caramell. Minimale Bitternote. Etwas rauchiger Tabak. Opulent und fast etwas zu fett. Sehr dicht. Überreifer Rosinen-Nektar. Es fehlt ihm etwas an Spritzigkeit. 2009-Sauternes-Brunch: 19 Punkte. Crème brulé, Orangeat. Dichte Süsse und gute Säurestruktur. Ausladend. Opulent. Langer Abgang mit einem rauchigen, malzigen Ton.
