The 1999 growing season was on the cool side. In fact, early on ripening was running behind the 1998 vintage. Then during the last week of September we got a full eight days of good heat and sun. That was just what the vines were looking for to finish ripening the Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc grapes.
