Wine Description
The Story
The Vintage Brut Cuvée is the signature wine of Domaine Carneros. It encompasses the widest range of estate clones and vineyard blocks of the winery’s collection. The tapestry of flavors that result, married with the inherent finesse of the cool Carneros fruit, create wines of depth and complexity that are enhanced by a minimum of three years of bottle age sur lie in the cellar before release.
Wine Information
While Carneros vineyards always produce superb fruit, in 2010 the Chardonnay was the star. Hence this cuvée features a higher proportion than usual of this varietal (58% Chardonnay and 42% Pinot Noir). The 2010 harvest was of normal size although the season was late and cool with a delayed bud break. In late August a brief but intense heat spike pushed the fruit to ripeness. The grape clusters had unusually small intense berries.
