Lachaux’s 2002 Clos de Vougeot, from a large well-placed parcel, is an exceptional example of this grand cru’s rarely seen potential. Its deep, intense aromas display licorice-infused blackberries and spices. On the palate, this wine’s power, depth, and concentration are matched by its purity and detail. This huge, medium to full-bodied effort coats the mouth with tar, black cherries, blackberries, licorice, and cassis.
