The Story

Sisters Jane and Claire own and operate their vineyard in Wrattonbully Wine Region, within the Limestone Coast GI. Vintage 2019

In 2019, exceptional winter rainfall gave us a full soil moisture profiles and budburst occurred on par with long term averages with very solid early shoot growth. Mid December through to the early March was extremely dry with virtually no rainfall. The mild days and cool nights in late February and early March aided in the final ripen creating strong varietal characters and crisp natural acids.

Written Notes

The great Aussie blend done particularly well in this Wrattonbully wine. Exceptional value. 59% Cabernet and 41% Shiraz, the wine spent 34 months in a mix of new and seasoned French oak barrels. While oak is evident, it is certainly not intrusive. Deep blood red in colour, we have soft, deep aromas here, utterly enticing. Blackfruits, licorice, chocolate, plums, spices and a sweet core of black cherries. Soft, very fine tannins and impressive length. This is absolutely delicious. Enjoy it now but you can cellar with confidence for at least another five years. Love it. 93.
