The founder's family story

Behind a great product lies a long family history. People, events and destinies that explain the current situation of the company and the family.

In January 2006, the fifth generation of Gramona celebrated the saga's 125th anniversary: a homepage to the culture of wine and cava, ongoing since 1881...

A certain idea of cava

As a company with a longstanding tradition, we respect our legacy and defend a certain idea of Cava and great ambition for the wines of the Penedès.

We leverage our exceptional soil and experience in the traditional or "Champenois" method to achieve the most elegant Largas Crianzas, the ultimate aim of the search for a Great Cava.

Philosophy
In our wines we seek the ultimate expression of a soil of exceptional capacity and variation, as well as to uphold the tradition of the wines of our land. Moreover, we are famous for leading the search for know-how to improve work in the vineyard and in the cellar.

We strive to respect individuality and freedom of ideas, shying away from trends or fashions, maintaining our commitment to our social and cultural setting. All with the hallmark of sobriety, discretion and the utmost elegance. These are the values and convictions that drive the Gramona brand every day.

Vintage 2011

Rioja: Hot, dry weather throughout the summer set the stage for ripe, deeply flavored wines that tend to be low-acid and fruit-forward, with round tannins that will ensure positive aging over at least the coming decade.
