Continuing the Comandante tradition, our winemaker Stèphane Vivier, has selected his favorite three barrels from our 'Old Wente' block for this micro-production Chardonnay. Straw in color, this wines brilliance in the glass is visually stunning. Intense aromatic lift of citrus blossom and wet stone envelop the nose of our 100% 'Old Wente' Chardonnay. The 2013 vintage started with a warm and dry spring, resulting in an advanced bud break. The conditions were near perfect at flowering and fruit set in late May. The summer conditions were mild, dry and steady, ideal for Chardonnay maturation and ripening. Harvest came a few days shy of September with fruit showing freshness, focus and round texture.
