The Story

In an appellation dominated by grand marques and worldwide brands, Manuel has quietly been developing his operation Janisson et Fils, located in the Grand Cru village of Verzenay.

Manuel’s family have produced Champagne from grapes grown on these same 7 hectares of land since 1923 and during his period in charge of the estate, he has brought about a fantastic rise in quality.

The brand new state-of-the-art winery, used by Manuel and his team, is home to a marriage of cutting-edge modern winemaking techniques and tried and tested traditional methods such fermentation in wooden barrels and “lutte raisonnée" in his viticulture.

Due to the very small amount of grapes Janisson produce, they concentrate on solely two varietals; Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Brut Tradition is 70% Pinot Noir.

Probably the best cuvée of Janisson made exclusively of Pinot Noir grapes from the family owned Grand Cru vineyards in Verzenay. A complex and opulent champagne with notes of brioche and honey,a textured palate of yellow, fleshy stone fruits lingering finish of citrus and minerals.

Wine Information

Composition : Blend : 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay
Dosage : 7 gr/l

Tasting : Visually : this vintage cuvee has a deep green-gold colour. The thin and discrete bubbles flow into a fine cord. The visual presentation of this vintage is rather calm, serene and moderate.

Nose : the first nose is also understated. After airing, stone fruits emerge with pralin, honey, dried flowers and fern; Aromas that give this vintage intensity and freshness.

Mouth : the attack is both fresh and enveloping. The sensation generated by the effervescence is creamy and perfectly integrated in the wine.
The pleasant acidity is very subtle and the dosage gives a soft and shading structure to the wine. The vinosity is brightened up by spicy aromas of thyme and pepper. The finish is very long and fresh thanks to the hint of acidity.

This wine confirms its personality in the universe of 2006 vintage champagnes.
