My aim with Plexus MRV is to promote a vibrant expression of fruit aromas from the interaction of the three varieties; and on the palate, to build structure and texture, rather than just acid crispness.
For such a supposedly dodgy vintage, this is utterly delicious. Has a lovely limpid appearance. Aromas of stonefruit, peach and a hint of apricot kernel. There is a very slight minerally background. A little bright acidity initially and then the wine mellows out. Mid length. Has a beguiling texture and there is an ever-so-slight hint of bitterness on the finish to tie it all up.
Should drink beautifully for at least the next three years.
If anyone ever thought John Duval was a red horse wonder, have a go at this. Delicious.
