The Story

The prestige wine of Montevertine is only produced in outstanding vintages. It is produced primarily from a two hectare vineyard planted in 1968 exclusively to Sangiovese vines with a north-northeast exposure.

Written Notes

Good looking normal size bottle and in an perfect condition. Colour is ruby red, and looking clear and deep. On the nose it is intense and complex. The taste is perfumed, full, round, and dry, warming, with medium tannin, with sweet tannins, and high in acidity, with perfectly balanced structure and developing. On the palate it is layered and has balsamic, cassis, toasty, mineral, cranberry, pepper and earthy flavours. The finish is long and spicy. This wine is excellent. I paid around 200-500€ a bottle. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 10-15 years, decant at least 45min before tasting and this is a good invest wine. Good value for money. I do recommend.
