When I visited Bordeaux in early March, Corona was a threat on the horizon and France was more concerned about an air traffic control strike. Written Notes

Tasted in February 2022. From satellite commune, Montagne St. Emilion. 78% Merlot + 22% C. Franc, 14.5% alcohol. A big surprise for me! From the first sniff/sip, it was impressive. Opulent, fresh and vibrant, crunchy berries and crushed stones on the nose, great structure and length, great midpalate and long persistent finish. Bravo!

Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Opulent nose with elegant toasting, dark blackberries, hints of blackcurrants and elderberries, plum jam in the background. Complemented by balmy spices, vanilla, cloves and cardamom, hints of dark chocolate. On the palate powerful with ripe tannins, excellent freshness, aromatic depth, dark berries and black stone fruit, hints of liquorice, coffee and balmy spices, convincing length. A wine with great potential.
