The Story

Like all second-label wines, La Chapelle is the little brother of the flagship wine produced on the same estate, Château La Mission Haut-Brion.

It is made from grapes grown in the same vineyard, it is raised in the same manner and benefits from the same level of care. In truth, it presents all the qualities of the estate's top wine on a reduced scale. Every effort is brought to bear to give the wine a similar harmony and to impart the same aromas.
Beginning with the 2006 vintage, the blending process used to create La Chapelle de La Mission Haut-Brion has involved the contribution of grapes produced on the former parcels of Château La Tour Haut-Brion.

In wine tasting notes, we have noticed that the word that is ultimately the most important is rarely mentioned. That word is pleasure. We would undoubtedly use it if we were to define this wine that will charm all your senses so. By now you probably have guessed: this "junior" Château La Mission Haut-Brion has all the alluring qualities of its big brother.

Length of initial maturing period in oak casks: 18-22 months in 20-25% new wood

Average production: 4,000 cases

Dark purple red with violet hue and almost black core. Elegant and expressive nose, dark berries and ripe stone fruit, hints of graphite and roasting aroma, quite complex approach. On the palate well structured with vibrant fruit, elegant character, ripe tannins and excellent length.
