The Story

The vineyard is planted in 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. At around five hectares, Certan de May is a tiny jewel poised between Vieux Château Certan and Petrus. Written Notes

Deep purple colour with violet hue and almost black core. Aromatic nose with excellent fruit, ripe plums, blackberries and hints of sloe. Well integrated toasting and subtle ok, fine oriental spices in the background. On the palate well structured with ripe and juicy fruit quoting the nose, ripe tannins, very convincing length.

Certan de May: 65% Merlot, 25% C. Franc and 10% C. Sauvignon. It has an expressive nose of aromatic black cherries and fragrant violets, with added notes of black truffles. It is sappy, fine midpalate, velvety, graceful, complex, and has a lingering finish. Superb. 95-96p.
