The Story

The vineyard is planted in 70% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. At around five hectares, Certan de May is a tiny jewel poised between Vieux Château Certan and Petrus. Written Notes

Certan de May - 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. It has a floral aroma and strong flavors of crunchy black cherries and violets. The wine is vibrant with a splendid structure and complexity, fine mid-palate, and persistent finish. Although it has an old-school Pomerol style, it is still an excellent wine many would enjoy. 96p.

Dark purple colour with violet hue and almost black core. Expressive and persistent nose with blackberries, blueberries and blackcurrant jelly, discreet hints of candied violets and mild spices. On the palate well structured with ripe tannins, sweet fruit and mild spics. A very juicy character with a certain freshness, very good depth and length.
