James Suckling, Mars 2016

This is a vivid and powerful red with lots of bright fruit and spice character. Full body, chewy tannins and loads of fruit on the finish. Firm and focused tannins. Lots of energy and vibrance. Spice and violet leaf undertone. Pure fruit. Pure structure. 98-99

Wine Information

Around April 15, the quick and even budbreak was the first factor in the vintage’s overall regularity. Tasting note

Written Notes

Tasted three times - last time in October 2017. Consistent notes. 60% C. Sauvignon + 36% Merlot´+ 4% Petit Verdot, long harvest between 15th September and 8th October, normal yields. Curiously, this wine tastes more concentrated than 2016, but perhaps isn't as distiguished and pure as 2016. Still, you're treated with excellent structure, complexity and minerality, remarkable sweetness of black fruit, riveting length and finish. Has been bottled some months ago and I'm sure it'll even improve in the bottle. Makes an exceptional pair with 2016!

Dark purple red with violet hue and almost black core. Excellent fruit, very pure style, dark berries, blackberries, blackcurrants and elderberries, black cherries, and hints of vanilla and gingerbread spices. On the palate well structured with pure fruit, excellent length, fine and mature tannins, freshness and minerality in the finish, a great wine with elegance and persistence.
