Written Notes

Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Rich nose with complex approach, intense fruit reminiscent of blackberries, ripe blueberries, flowery hints in the background (violets), as well as liquorice, mild spices, dark chocolate and aromatic herbs. On the palate well balanced with very appealing and multi-layered character, ripe fruit, mild spices and liquorice, great depth and length. A wonderful wine with a very convincing nose and an even more convincing taste.

Astonishing. Complex, layered, vivacious and utterly smooth, with a heady, voluminous perfume of violets, small red flowers, dark cherries, mulberries and cassis knit with cedar/vanilla oak and backed by a hint of blackberry pie. Long and supple, almost ridiculously gentle, it’s explosively flavoured with dark cherries, plums and dark berries artfully plied with faintly smoky, showy oak and a hint of meatiness. It takes clarity and purity to a rare dimension, unfolding layers of fruit and fine, genuinely firm, slatey tannins that become steadily more pronounced towards its lingering finish.

19.5/20, 98/100, drink 2037-2047
