Written Notes

I have to admit that I completely missed, or forgotten, that this famous location is in Oger and not in the home town of Avize that I had in mind. When I now knew it, I suddenly understood the whole wine much better than before. Belle Voyes is an improved and significantly cleaner and more well-made copy of Jean Milans two prestigious champagne from old vines in Oger. Let me characterize the most village typical features of the one of the grand cru villages that provide mature pears in young wines, such as the one that is most sunny and rounder than Mesnil, but not as buttery as Cramant and not exactly as mineral-like as Avize.
Always big and rich with some peelnotes of gray pears and yellow apples. At the same time in this polished vintage a softness and creamy fluffiness, which is at least appealing from the start.
