The best batches are carefully selected, vinified and aged separately. Only some ten crus deserve this special treatment: the very best villages of the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs. Among them we find a predominance of Pinot Noir (64%) which marks the House’s style. Time is needed to reveal the fullness of Nature’s bounty. THE STORY
2006 was notable for its hot weather, albeit occasionally punctuated by local climatic events of varying severity (spring frosts, hailstorms, summer rainfall and heatwaves). Nevertheless, despite these unusual conditions, nature showed its generous side by offering an abundant and high-quality grape harvest. Nature’s excesses remind us of the fragile balances that surround vineyard work up to harvest time.
Vintage 2006
A cold winter and springtime frosts laid the foundations for this vintage of abundant yields (12,997 kg/ha). Uneventful flowering was followed by exceptionally hot and sunny weather, which lasted until August. A dank August left producers fearful but fortunately warm, bright conditions in September redressed the balance.
