Wine Information

The 2002 Vintage is one of the most beautiful of the last decade : very beautiful harvest during the second half of september with healthy grapes and a good acidity. The Chardonnay grapes with exotic and floral aromas show a good minerality. The Pinots Noirs are particularly full bodied and complex with red and black fruits aromas, a hint of spicies, toastiness and brioche.

Written Notes

Always felt that the more standard wines from this venerable old producer were okay but it is in the upper echelon where they shine. And so it proved Gorgeous stuff Lemon and chalk notes. Bright and vibrant though maintains a note of austerity. An apply, Chablis-like note, but Grand Cru Chablis. Good length, tight, years to go as it really still is quite youthful. Delightful now but with great potential.
