A sunny season and a warm-weather harvest; a pleasant year to start working as a winemaker. The wines have always kept a supple, velvety character and sweet aromas, and have never really closed up. Today, they have lost none of their charm, which, at the time, attracted numerous wine-lovers to Burgundies. Like the 85s, they should be drunk sparingly: they don’t show any signs of fatigue.
