The Story

Biondi-Santi also thinks that his Riserva is one of the world’s longest-lasting wines:
“Even though Italian wine legislation requires that Brunello be matured in barrels for two years and in bottles for four to six months, we allow our wine to age for five to six years before bottling. Written Notes

Elegant ruby colour with slightly purple hue. Noble nose with refined aroma reminiscent of balmy spices, dried figs, ripe Morello cherries, mulberries, hints of chestnut blossoms and violets. A whiff of undergrowth in the background. The wine is initially slightly closed but opens up very well, displaying a multi-layered character. On the palate well-structured and balanced with fine acidity, ripe tannins, balmy spices and fine fruit. A very appealing Riserva with elegance and great persistence, a pleasure to drink now but offering a huge potential for further ageing. Purity and finesse.
