Written Notes

Early seems to sum the vintage character for the 2013 Sauvignon Blanc.   A warm and dry spring led to earlier than normal budbreak.   The nice even and fairly mild summer carried the early trend into the fall.   Harvest began in late August, about a week and a half earlier than normal, and the great ripening weather held, leading to a nice early finish to the harvest.  With the 2013 vintage, they decided that they had the quality to produce an ambitious, Bordeaux-style Sauvignon Blanc: a wine bringing together fruit, structure and intensity.
