Louis XV Brut 2015

The flagship prestige cuvée from Maison De Venoge, served in its iconic decanter-shaped bottle, this 2015 release is an equal blend of Grand Cru Pinot Noir (from Verzenay and Ambonnay) and Chardonnay (from Avize, Cramant, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger), vinified without malolactic fermentation and aged for nearly a decade on its lees.

The nose is majestic, rich, and deeply refined, opening with aromas of baked golden apple, yellow peach, and candied orange peel, interwoven with opulent autolytic layers of warm brioche, toasted hazelnuts, acacia honey, and a grounding thread of crushed chalk. On the palate, the wine delivers a full-bodied, vinous entry cushioned by a remarkably fine, silky mousse. The rich fruit concentration of the warm 2015 vintage fills the mid-palate, yet the blocked malolactic fermentation and low Extra Brut dosage maintain striking tension and focus. It finishes long, dry, and aristocratic, leaving a lasting trail of citrus zest, roasted almond, and chalky salinity.
