Written Notes

By far the most extreme version of the Cullen Sauv Blanc Sem blends, this is a 66/34% blend from old vines planted in the Cullen vineyard between 1976 and 1978. Harvested on a ‘moon opposite Saturn’ fruit day, the fruit was given extended days of skin contact and then seven months in oak, 75% new. Yellow orange hue (amber-ish?), the nose gives is notes of beeswax, very ripe stonefruits, peach pits, florals and honeysuckle. A wine of medium length with a clean finish. Enjoy this over the next couple of years. Better still, line up a bottle of each and decide just which is your favourite of the four. 91.
