The Sublime Grace and Ethereal Purity of Le Pin 2025

The unveiling of Le Pin 2025 at the spring En Primeur tastings has captivated the global fine wine community, with critics celebrating this rare gem as an absolute triumph of nuance, elegance, and understated majesty. In a vintage characterized by solar extremes and heavy concentration across Bordeaux, this legendary Pomerol micro-estate has defied the roaring heat of the season to delive...

The Story

Château Le Pin, or simply Le Pin, is an unclassed Bordeaux wine from the appellation Pomerol. There has never been an official classification of Pomerol. Even so, Chateau Le Pin commands prices that put it at levels equal to the best wines of Bordeaux. The unusually small estate is located on the Right Bank of France’s Gironde estuary, and its wine is periodically one of the world's most expensive red wines. Le Pin was the first of the "garage...

Written Notes

Le Pin: 100% Merlot, 14% alcohol. It’s very expressive on the nose, with fragrant notes of morello cherries, raspberries, and violets. This wine is extremely flavorful, seductive, and sublimely built. Seamless on the palate with vibrancy and a fabulous midpalate, and it fills every “corner” in your mouth with silky fruit and tannin. Top bin! 99p.

A precise and vibrant wine with dark purple colour, violet hue and black core. The aroma is reminiscent of ripe blackberries, plums and mulberries, floral hints and violets, elegant oak with fine toasting and hints of chocolate. On the palate elegant with juicy fruit, ripe tannins, fine acidity, elegant spiciness and fine hints of oak. A wine with freshness and great length. Impressing.
