The greatest of all white appellations and from a producer that had gone through some problems not long before this wine, but by the early '90s, son Martin had taken over from the father and things were very much on the up.
This wine was an old softie. There was a hint of an odd teak like character. It was undoubtedly seriously good but would certainly have been better in past years. Still complex. There is a gentle serenity here.
A grand old Duchess, still in fine form but having seen better days.
