History
Not everyone starts their wine drinking career with a taste of 1962 Chateau D'Yquem but, as a youngster, Paul Hobbs’ passion for wine was ignited when his father brought home a bottle of this very wine and poured it into paper cups for all the family to taste. After heading up the team at Opus One, and establishing the Chardonnay programme at Catena, Paul founded his own winery in 1991.
Named most influential winemaker in California and receiving the magical 100 point score from Robert Parker, Paul Hobbs has shot to fame for crafting wines that are truly remarkable for their balance, intensity and sense of place.Terroir-driven Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Cabernet Sauvignon are the focus at Paul Hobbs Winery, and the wines on offer this year deliver the exceptional levels of finesse and personality.
