The Story

Château de Malle was owned by the Lur Saluces family (previous owners of d`Yquem) from 1702 through to 1950. Château de Malle is now owned by the Comtesse de Bournazel, who took up the reins after the premature death of her husband in 1985. This large 2ème Cru Classé estate consists of 55 hectares of vineyards, of which 27 hectares are found in the communes of Preignac and Fargues in Sauternes.

The year didn't began very well, the weather was very contrasting with an execrable spring and a very dry summer. Thanks to the rain at the beginning of Sepember, then to an indian summer, we have been witnessing a developpement of a perfect botrytis, at the start of October, which is the feature of this vintage.

Yellow colour with slightly golden hue. Aromatic character, ripe apricots and candied orange peel, elegant spiciness and hints of ripe citrus fruit in the background. On the palate rich with opulent sweetness, fine acidity and very good length. 93
