The Story

The name of Grand-Puy-Lacoste is one of the vineyards selected in 1855 by the Bordeaux Chamber of Commerce, to figure in its famous classification.

Written Notes

Very tight, with notes of wet stone, plum pit and chalky minerality leading the way, backed by an ample core of steeped currant, blackberry and black cherry fruit waiting to unfurl. The finish smolders with cast iron details. Should round into form with cellaring.

  • 96p

Dark purple red with violet hue and almost black core. Densely structured nose with slightly closed character, ripe fruit reminiscent of plums and dark berries, mild spices and subtle oak. On the palate well structured with great elegance and persistence, refined fruit and mild spices. A well balanced wine with freshness and enjoyable length, a great classic.
