The Story

The wines of LYNCH MOUSSAS are today well known for their deep and dark colour, their red-fruity nose. They are round with a beginning of ripe tannins, followed by the typical hints of blackcurrant of the prestigious wines of Pauillac. These full-bodied wines have a significant length in the mouth.

BORDEAUX VINTAGE 2019

When I visited Bordeaux in early March, Corona was a threat on the horizon and France was more concerned about an air traffic control strike. Written Notes

Lynch Moussas – 73% Cabernet Sauvignon + 27% Merlot. Belongs to Casteja family who also owns Trottevieille in Saint-Emilion. There's been vast improvement of the quality here in recent vintages, and 2019 confirms it with aplomb. Potent yet elegant and with great flair. Aromatic blackcurrants on the nose, creamy on the palate with fine-grained tannin, gentle kick of oak to balance the fruit and great length. 93p.

Dark purple colour with violet hue and black core. Elegant nose with finespun aroma, reminiscent of ripe berries, e.g. blackberries, blackcurrants, elderberries and mulberries, hints of mocha and dark chocolate in the backbround. On the palate well structured with persistence and freshness, ripe tannins and very good length. The renaissance of this cru is confirmed with this wine.
