Cloudy Bay on ollut perustamisestaan lähtien Uuden-Seelannin tunnetuin viinitila.
Ensimmäisenä vuonna 1985 Cloudy Baylla ei ollut edes omaa tilaa eikä viljelyksiä. Rypäleet ostettiin toisilta tiloilta ja viini valmistettiin vuokratiloissa. Tänään Cloudy Bay´llä on omia viljelyksiä 45 hehtaaria, ja sen vuosituotanto on yli 600 000 pulloa.
