The Story

From the lower terrace of our Te Muna Road Vineyard in Martinborough, this wine is sourced exclusively from several parcels of vines growing on a stony, limestone influenced soil adjacent to the Huangarua River.

Intervention in the cellar is minimal out of care and respect for characters of the vineyard, resulting in a wine with a distinctive fine, soft, chalky texture and great elegance.

Pale straw colour with green hues. Fresh aromatics of white flowers, jasmine, nectarine and lime. The palate is rich and wonderfully complex with an array of tropical fruits, refreshing acidity and a long chalky finish.

Wine Information

The higher-elevation Te Muna Road Vineyard is harvested about a week later than sites in nearby Martinborough. The grapes have greater freshness and acidity. The vineyard's lower terrace has stony soils with limestone, excellent for Sauvignon Blanc. White wines from this vineyard show a distinctive fine, subtle and elegant texture.

Shows richly expressive aromas and flavors of fresh lime, lemongrass, ripe nectarine, and citrus. Overall, the wine is powerful, crisp, clean and dry.
