The Story
This was a difficult vintage for whites in Hawkes Bay, but red grapes were picked in excellent condition with intense flavor. Conditions were cool and dry from September through January, requiring good irrigation management but creating low disease pressure and excellent flowering, setting moderate crops with small berries. After persistent rain in February, conditions were warmer than average and rainfall was low for the duration of March and April.
