The Story

Variety: Riesling

Vineyard: The Praelatenberg is one very nice plot at the top of Kintzheim, on gneiss and granite soils white quartz sand. Total east exposition and medium slope. This terroir provides good mineral nutrition but does not retain warter. This soil is poor in organic matter. Wines are often elegant and fine, with a generous mineral and fruity flavour.

Viticulture: This exploitation is led according to the mode of the Organic Agriculture - controlled by ECOCERT.

Tasting notes:
Colour : Intensive citrus yellow, with gold reflection, limpid.
Aromas : Very intense nose, beautiful evolution between fruity presences (bush peach, pineapple, tangerine), mineral and floral. Very complex nose presenting buttered nuances, camphorated, mentholated, balsamic,...
Taste : Nice first sensation silky, then fresh and fruity on notes of pineapple, grapefruit and bush peach, very beautiful density, bitterness pointing out the citrus fruits peel, mentholated evolution, camphorated.

Serving:
Wine and food harmony : Suitable  with seafood and refined fish (prawn with curry, hot oyster, salmon, barbet with hazelnuth oil,...) traditional food and slightly sweet dishes (young pigeon with wild mushroom, lamb with bean, pumplein, duck with honey,...) and traditional Alsace dishes like sauerkraut, baeckaoffa (Alsace stewed beef, pork, lamb,...)

Service Temperature : 10-11°

Ageing : 10 years

Written Notes

On the nose it is open and youthful. The taste is vivid, refined, and dry, with high tannin, and high in acidity, medium-bodied, with balanced, concentrated structure and youthful. On the palate it is layered and has white fruits, petrol and citrus flavours. The finish is long, lingering and pure. This wine is sophisticated. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 10-15 years.
