A fascinating solera-style Champagne built around a perpetual reserve (Réserve Perpétuelle) established in 1962 and kept in enameled tanks, updated with 20% from the latest harvest. The nose is extraordinarily complex, oxidative, and mature, bursting with bruised yellow apples, dried figs, and orange peel, heavily interwoven with autolytic notes of freshly baked sourdough, walnut skin, dark honey, and a distinct flinty minerality. On the palate, it exhibits deep vinous weight and structural breadth, balanced by an ultra-low dosage that highlights its raw, bone-dry purity. A creamy, fine mousse carries layers of dried stone fruits, toasted hazelnuts, and warm spice, underpinned by a vibrant beam of tension-giving acidity that leads into an exceptionally long, savory-saline finish.
