Up to this point 1996 has been considered a fantastic vintage which produced classic wines; the best since 1990. A long, dry summer produced grapes of record ripeness with record acidity. Some, including myself, question how the 1996s are aging. Deep golden colour. Overt, clean and fresh, firm red fruit nose with spiciness and earthy notes. Tat, fresh and acidic, nice fruit purity. Long and tart, intense. Rodukas, racy, clean. Fresh, yeasty, rich
Good looking normal size bottle. Colour is yellow and and looking bright. On the nose it is fresh. The taste is firm, and dry, and average in acidity, with concentrated and well-structured structure. On the palate it is layered and has mineral and white fruits flavours. The finish is long, lingering and vibrant. This wine is transparent and fine. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 1-5 years.
