Written Notes

Understood to be the first blanc de blancs from this small, very old House. While its “standards” are decent, acceptable but hardly exciting fizz, the prestige wines they release can be scintillating. I’ve seen them picked as Krug's in blind tastings by some very knowledgeable palates.

This is a blend from the '95,'96, '98 and '99 vintages. It is crisp and clean, with great length. Crunchy acidity. Tight, with finesse and a mix of flavours including a lemony note, cashews and stonefruit. Terrific champers.

Pale golden yellow; the fine, steady bubbles rise gracefully. The nose is both mineral and floral, revealing aromas of flowers, white fruits, apricots, Mirabelle plum and light notes of lemon, citrus fruit, quince jelly and honey. White flowers mingle with a hint of toastiness. There is a silky and harmonious sensation for this crisp, structured champagne.

“In our range, we lacked a Blanc de Blancs. We wanted to add one to the family, yet preserve the House style. It offers both the finesse of the Côte des Blancs and the structure of the Montagne de Reims. I thoroughly enjoyed creating this wine.”

Nose: mild, soft, lemon Palate: lean, tight In a nutshell: lacks charm Final verdict: As sharp as a knife
