The Story
The vineyard is named after the French port of Le Havre, where Jean Leon stowed away on a ship bound for the United States.
The Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc varieties grow at an elevation of 285 meters. The shallow, light yellowish brown soils are well-drained, medium-to-fine textured and contain few stones. Organic matter content is low, and calcium carbonate and active limestone levels are high. The water holding capacity is moderate.
