The Story

In our Tokaj vineyards harvesting begins at the end of October or latest by mid-November and is divided into two distinct operations. The vines grow on volcanic soils very rich in minerals.

First the mature botrytized shriveled grapes (‘aszú’ in Hungarian) are handpicked one by one off the vine. Afterwards, the less botrytized clusters are harvested whole. After fermentation, wine (and base wine) is placed into 136 liter barrels, known as ‘...

Maturation: In 220 litre oak barrels for 3 years

Tasting notes: Lovely aromas of botrytized berries followed by enormous, high structure and full body. Long, smooth, endless taste and exceptional deepness of peach, apricot and fig character. Full of Tokaj soul.

Colour is gold and medium. On the nose it is youthful, intense, ripe, generous, rich and pure. The taste is fresh, fruity, refined, rich, and sweet, and high in acidity, medium-bodied, with balanced, well-structured, well-integrated, concentrated structure and youthful. On the palate it is layered and has apricot, honey, white fruits, citrus, plum, viscous, waxy and tropical fruits flavours. The finish is long, lingering and vibrant. This wine is fine and wine for food. Perfectly stored bottles are still very worthy and will last well for another 10-15 years and decant at least 15min before tasting.
