Campo Lusso gets its name from the "Campo Lusso" vineyard. This wine is made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes planted in 2001 under the Tower of Galatrona in a small natural terrace with extremely favourable pedo-climatic conditions, placed in a spectacular location.
The name of the wine is derived from an old expression of the farmers of this area who defined the field were the wine is grown an authentic luxury. At present the production of Campo Lusso is limited to only 2 tonneaux (500 lt).
With Bòggina and Galatrona, this is the other true Grand Cru of Petrolo.
This high density vineyard extends for about half hectare, with about 5000 goblet-trained plants (bush system), just below the old medieval watchtower of Galatrona just below 500 m asl. The vineyard is placed on beautiful natural terracing facing the Natural Park of the Chianti Hills recently producing for our cru of pure Cabernet Sauvignon, the Campolusso.
