94 points – The Wine Advocate, Antonio Galloni

The 2004 Barolo Ornato is the most distinguished Ornato yet. This Barolo remains very primary and backward, yet there is a haunting inner perfume that occasionally makes an appearance here and that augurs very well for the wine’s future. The tannins are fine but also beautifully balanced by the wine’s massive fruit. …Anticipated maturity: 2014-2034.

96 points – Wine Spectator, James Suckling...

Written Notes

Brickish garnet. Sweet fruit and fragrant baking spice – an amazing array of spices inclucing cloves and also violets. All these flavours echoed on the palate, where this is also quite a strong vanilla note. Firm, dense, fine, dry and very young. (JH)
