Noble and generous, glory of old Piedmont, a wine suitable for long aging, Barolo is the absolute master of the table. It conquers the palate with the conviction of strength, harmony and fullness and holds its sway at length.
A classic and expressive Barolo from the Marcenasco cru, the 2019 shows both structure and aromatic nuance. The nose offers rich aromas of red cherry, plum and raspberry, lifted by floral notes of rose petal and violet, with hints of orange zest, dried herbs and warm spice. Subtle tar and crushed stone elements add complexity and terroir expression.
On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with a firm but refined structure. Juicy red fruit is framed by finely grained tannins and balanced acidity, giving the wine energy and poise. Savoury nuances of tea leaf, anise and earthy mineral tones build through the mid-palate, adding depth and persistence.
The finish is long, elegant and gently savoury, with lingering red fruit, floral lift and a chalky mineral edge. A well-balanced, terroir-driven Barolo that will reward careful cellaring.
