The Story
Alongside Geyserville, Lytton Springs is one of the heritage Zinfandel sites which traces its origins back to Captain William Litton in the 1870s. Some of the vines here were planted in 1901 and the 80-year-old Cournoise for example, although a tiny amount of the blend, is complex and beautiful.

In 2021 an intense cool spell in mid-September led to a longer hangtime and later harvesting resulting in wines with great intensity and balance with 38 different parcels harvested between the 1st of September and the 5th of October. The wine has a beautiful dark colour, due to the good amount of Petite Sirah which gives the Zinfandel more structure and intensity.
