Wine Description
The Story
Sourced from a small selection of our favorite shiraz blocks, the grapes were both hand and machine picked before fermentation in the traditional open top vats. The wine was then matured in older, large format French oak casks. These 2,700 litre casks highlight the fruit purity whilst making sure that oak isn't the dominant character.
Wine Information
The ‘baby brother’ to our famous Vat 9 Shiraz, our Hunter Valley Shiraz is made to the same high standards that our agship Shiraz receives.
VINTAGE CONDITIONS – A perfect growing season was experienced in the hunter valley for the 2014 vintage. Fine, dry weather produced lower crops with amazing concentration and depth of avours. Arguably the nest red vintage in the Hunter Valley since the famed 1965 vintage.

WINE ANALYSIS – Alc 13.5% pH 3.54 TA 6.70 g/L
DATE BOTTLED – 16th November 2015.
TASTING NOTES – The nose displays youthful bright red fruits, which continues onto the palate. The palate is abundant with red fruits with a wonderful integration with the soft savoury tannins and the acid creating a well balanced, food friendly medium bodied Shiraz.
SERVING SUGGESTIONS - A wine such as this calls for a classic food and wine such as roast lamb or beef. Excellent drinking upon release and will develop in complexity with short term bottle age.
