The Story

Inspired by two cultural masterpieces, Akira Kurosawa's 1954 epic film "Seven Samurai" and The Clash's 1980 punk classic "Magnificent Seven", which is widely considered to be a precursor to the hip-hop musical genre. A tribute to art, culture, collaboration and hard work.

Label design by Richard Von Saal.

The Magnificent Seven is a selection culled from the best expression of each of our single-vineyard blocks to produce the finest wine possible. The stunning result displays a preternatural ability to hold opposing flavors and contrasting veins of energy at once: decadent yet elegant, concentrated yet ethereal. The nuance of minerality and savor stands in delectable opposition to an almost barrel-sample-like youthfulness of fruit. The vital spirit of The Magnificent Seven blend strikes at the heart of what we dreamed of producing when it all began 15 years ago. Martin R. Reyes MW

Written Notes

"A blend of “the best of” Beckstoffer’s Las Piedras, Dr. Crane and To Kalon vineyards, 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Magnificent Seven sports a deep garnet-purple color and rock star nose of crème de cassis, baked plums, plum pudding and mulberries with hints of Chinese five spice, menthol, dark chocolate and dusty soil. Full-bodied and jam packed with expressive black fruit voices, it fills the mouth with exotic spice and earthy accents, finishing with a grainy texture and bags of character. 25 cases only were made."
